"All you need is love"
I have my dad to thank for being a celebrant. When he died in 2010, I was asked by the family to deliver his eulogy. I had been to funerals, celebration of life ceremonies where I had left thinking well that could have been about anyone. I was determined to capture the essence of my dad, so that everyone at his funeral would say "That was Frank to a tee". After the ceremony the Minister approached me and said "That was brilliant, if you ever wanted to do this as a living, career you could do". It planted a seed....and after 34 years as a senior civil servant (public service) I decided to take the plunge and I set up my celebrancy business in honour of my dad called- Brooke Ceremonies.
Hi, I'm Emma, an International College of Professional Celebrant (ICPC) trained civil celebrant and I live in Lowton, a village in Wigan; providing bespoke ceremonies across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and overseas.
By choosing a celebrant the possibilities are endless. Did you know that a celebrant can deliver ceremonies anywhere as long as we have the landowners permission.
I create beautiful and unique ceremonies that matches your hopes and dreams. I am warm, compassionate and empathetic and it's my job to get the best from you so I can provide you with the perfect ceremony.
It's a real privilege and an honour to do what I do.
Bespoke, Reliable, Officiant, Occasion, Kind, Effective
is the hallmark of Brooke Ceremonies.
What is a celebrant? A celebrant is a person who leads and officiates ceremonies, such as weddings and funerals. Being a celebrant is all about love, whether it's helping a couple celebrate their love for one another in a beautiful wedding or renewal of vows, or enabling a family to welcome a new arrival in a baby naming ceremony, or welcoming children into new families, or recognising new identities and helping families say goodbye to a loved one.
These, and many other rites of passage, have existed for as long as human beings have existed. They, and the love they celebrate are fundamental to who we are regardless of our race, gender, sexuality, political views, nationality, faith or any other characteristic.
In essence, we are master co-creators and performers of ceremonies that reflect the needs and beliefs of the individuals involved.
